The microdrones GmbH was founded in 2005.

Several years before founding, the core team was already involved with the development of aircraft of many kinds. This innovative combination of various skills has always been our formula for success - and will be in the future.

The breakthrough came with the reintroduction of the quad-rotor concept in - so far - not known compactness and efficiency. Our first product, the micro drone md4-200 is, as a result, since April 2006 on the market available. We have sold more than 250 units in a very short time, which led to a rapid growth of the company. In 2010, another product line got established: the md4-1000. Also with this bigger system, we again set a standard. The first year alone we have sold over 100 units. As a consequence, the number of employees increased in the headquarter (Siegen, Germany) of initially 4 people to a team of over 20 employees in 2010.

Worldwide, more than 100 people are now actively engaged in the microdrone. Most important is our mechanics Center Schubeler composite in Paderborn and our affiliated production facility "microdrones-Asia 'by our local partner "Aircam" in China. In addition, we also have built in a very short time a worldwide distribution network with over 20 local point distributors. Here the trend is of cause also increasing.

In the future we will further explore and develop platforms and aircraft. The further expansion of our product line is of course top priority. Both larger systems as well as the further miniaturization are our top priority throughout the company's roadmap. Our company name along with our slogan "your eye in the sky," accurately describes the gap that we close with our products. The expansion of our worldwide dealer network and the expansion of our production facilities are and will remain two of our major business objectives. Our primary obligation is always the highest quality of our product coupled to a reliable and personal service.
