Drone Lidar on Campus with Microdrones and Geotronix Indonesia

In Indonesia, the Microdrones World Tour made a stop on campus at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta with our distributor, Geotronix. During the visit, Geotronix demonstrated the advanced LiDAR technology of the mdLiDAR1000 aaS by creating and executing a mapping mission at the University.

Working with the Geomatics Engineering Department of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Geotronix Indonesia employed the Microdrones workflow of Plan, Fly, Process and Visualize to map a 14-hectare area of the University.

A local television crew reported on the events of the day and the story, presented in Indonesian, can be viewed in the player below.

The duration of the mission was 30 minutes and the data obtained will be used in the Geomatics Engineering Study Program of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta.

Geotronix Indonesia hopes that the exposure to cutting-edge technology can broaden students' horizons so that after graduating, they will be better prepared to jump into industry and the world of work.

"It's nice to see our distributor, Geotronix Indonesia, introducing our drone surveying equipment to future users while also promoting drone Lidar and raising the awareness of Microdrones," says Syamsul Bahri, Microdrones sales representative for Australasia. "We look forward to teaming up on other demonstations and presentations."
