Drone use in Construction and Mining covered in latest Microdrones World Tour

During the month of May, the team at Microdrones continued their World Tour visiting expos, demonstrations and trade show conferences. Sharing some of their experiences this month are Dominik Wójcik, Microdrones Eastern European Sales Manager and Darren Wilkinson, Microdrones Sales Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

THE INTERNATIONAL FAIR OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA

Dominik Wójcik attended the 25th annual The International Fair of Road Construction Industry Autostrada-Polska at the Targi Kielce Exhibition and Conference Center in Kielce, Poland. The show is considered to be one the most important and prestigious industry events in Poland.  The expo holds conferences, demonstrations, exhibits and meetings targeted toward construction companies’ representatives, specialists and business-insiders as well as road managers.

At the event, Microdrones set up a booth with their service partner SkySnap, featuring information on the mdLiDAR and mdMapper solutions. Wójcik said, “This is the 2nd largest expo, in terms of size, in all of Poland, and it’s a great opportunity to meet representative in all aspects of Construction and their related companies.  We fielded many questions about our total portfolio and the different types of payloads we can carry.  LiDAR was the prevalent focus, as it’s still relatively new for drones. This was a nice opportunity to draw some attention to Microdrones and even confirm a few attendees to our upcoming Geo Days in June.”

THE AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF MINE SURVEYORS (AIMS) INTERACTIVE DAY

Darren Wilkinson, in conjunction with reseller Sphere Drones, presented at the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) Interactive Day at Moranbah in Central Queensland. Located in the hub of Queensland’s coal producing region, the day was attended by approximately 50 delegates, all of whom are registered or qualified mine surveyors.

The Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS) provides professional representation to government, industry and educational organizations on mine surveying issues around Australia.

Wilkinson said, “The interactive format for the day sees each sponsor set up in its own space, with groups of five to seven rotating through each area. Spending 45 minutes with each group allows for a highly interactive and customized discussion around the product range. Microdrones’ DG system, high quality camera, interchangeable payloads and LiDAR solutions continued to stand out as points of difference and value. These were of keen interest to many delegates who are looking to go “next level” in their drone operations.”

AIMS runs similar programs throughout the year, with an annual national conference. This year’s conference will be held in Sydney 14-16 August.
