We’ve all gaped in horror at the news footage of destruction and death waged by tsunamis in the South China Sea and Indian Ocean. Millions of people have lost their lives in these regions due to tsunamis. In 2004, one tsunami in the Indian Ocean killed 230,000 people.
With proper warning, these lives can be saved and Microdrones technology is helping to ensure that happens. We’re proud to announce The South China Sea Tsunami Warning Center now collects data by deploying a Microdrones md4-1000 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
The Microdrones md4-1000 has been deployed for maritime missions ranging from marine supervision, monitoring of marine environments, and island/coastline survey operations. The md4-1000 is also the most widely used UAS on the Chinese mainland.
This latest application for The South China Sea Tsunami Warning Centeradds to a growing list of maritime institutions that have invested in the Microdrones UAS platform. This list includes:

We recently received outstanding feedback on md4-1000 from Aircam Aviation Technology, who worked with the Zhejiang municipal government to implement a series of island expeditions and remote sensing survey projects.
