Microdrones is seeking a talented and highly skilled Lead Android Developer who will build and guide the team to develop our market leading UAV mission planning & supervision application mdCockpit. If you have a strong experience as Lead Android Developer, want to experiment the newest technologies on a challenging project, innovate and build tomorrow’s technology, then this job is for you

  • You are passionate about new technologies and are intrigued by drones
  • Agile and scrum are not a buzzword for you: you understand its mindset, discipline and practice
  • You can make advised/justified technology and architectural choices
  • The Product Owner is your best partner and you collaborate with him to make good decisions
  • You are a good communicator
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken), speaking French is an asset
  • You manage a development team with ease; including hiring, onboarding, coaching, etc.
  • You lead the team, in term of good practices, technique, planning and encourage knowledge sharing. You help the team to improve itself. You create a team environment that is positive and productive
  • You promote collaboration within your team as well as with other teams (e.g. Hardware team)
  • You set high-quality standards including high test coverage and act as a gatekeeper of the product quality
  • You are on the edge of the latest techniques and tools to make development efficient and easy
  • You attach great value to teamwork (advice, code reviews, etc.)
  • You don’t strive to reinvent the wheel and believe in the open-source philosophy
  • You are highly introspective with yourself, the product and the team in a constructive way
  • You understand what drives overall business success and you are accountable to deliver quality results
  • You demonstrate knowledge of core products and processes to get results
  • You anticipate obstacles and take action to prevent or minimize their impact
  • You are a team motivator, positive and a true leader for your team
  • You have strong experience developing high-quality Android applications
  • Planning in Jira, documenting on Confluence and/or Markdown is a habit for you
  • You have at least 3 years of experience with Android SDK and 5 years of experience with Java
  • You have experience with Kotlin
  • You master Object-Oriented Programming and are comfortable with other paradigms
  • You know MVP, and reactive architecture (with Rx)
  • You are comfortable with concurrency (multi-threading, asynchronous, messaging, etc.)
  • You are aware of mobile security best practices
