DRON LIDAR

Microdrones Integrated Systems spotted at 2019 SWANA Quad State Conference

Sometimes, when a representative from Microdrones is unable to attend an event, our customers will help fill in.  Such was the case at the 2019 SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Quad State Conference. Joseph Colvin, from JMC Professional Surveying and Mapping, attended the conference, displayed their mdLiDAR1000 and fielded questions from attendees.

The conference took place August 27-29, in Asheville, North Carolina. SWANA is a non-profit, educational organization serving individuals and communities responsible for the management and operation of municipal solid waste management systems. As an international association dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in the field, SWANA offers workshops, training programs, technical assistance, and certifications to help meet its member's ever-growing needs.

The conference was an opportunity to meet with industry professionals, review the latest technology, and attend breakout sessions for educational seminars. “Drone use is gaining popularity in the waste management industry for surveying, mapping, methane detection and inspection,” Colvin said. “We set up our booth and highlighted our work with the mdLiDAR1000. It was a nice opportunity to review our services, share some of our results, and meet new people.”
