Juist Island is a small island and small village off the coast of northwest Germany. It’s one of seven East Frisian Islands at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea, part of the North Sea. It has a population of under 2,000 people but because of its location, the small population has no regular access to crucial medicine and other supplies.
Part of this solution was to find a way to get the necessary medicine to the people quickly- a solution more safely accomplished with the help of a drone.
Microdrones worked with DHL to design a parcelcopter advanced enough to cross the open water and deliver with a speed that could make the difference when health is on the line. Watch the amazing story of the unmanned parcel copter and the village of Juist here.
